Mortal Kombat X Goes for Portable Blood with iOS and Android Versions in April, New Trailer Shows “Fighting/Card-Battler” Gameplay
Fighting games have gradually made strides in the free-to-play and mobile markets over the last few years, in particular with the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us on iOS and Android after the game’s console debuts, and now the upcoming bloody brawler Mortal Kombat X, will go for portable blood this spring.
Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that a mobile version of Mortal Kombat X, the latest in the bloody fighting game series from developer NetherRealm Studios, will release a companion mobile title for iOS and Android in April.
Like with the mobile version of Injustice, the iOS and Android versions of Mortal Kombat X will differ from the upcoming console versions of the game as a “fighting/card-battler hybrid,” alongside content that can be unlocked between the mobile and console versions of the game through a WB Play account, with various achievements and tasks that can be completed within each version.
Mortal Kombat X will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14th, 2015, along with the newly-announced versions for iOS and Android that will also release in April – in the meantime, you can check out a new trailer for the game’s mobile version below:
