Ed Boon, co-creator of the Mortal Kombat series and Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios, has been teasing Twitter for a while now on the latest entry into the franchise. Today Boon finally announced the new game, titled Mortal Kombat X.

He also revealed a brand new trailer for the game, which can be viewed below. While the consoles have not been officially revealed yet, it’s been confirmed that they will definitely be current-gen. Finally Mortal Kombat X will feature an original track by Wiz Khalifa titled “Can’t Be Stopped” (featured in the trailer as well). This goes hand in hand with Khalifa and Boon’s mysterious conversation on twitter that first hinted at the title.
