After its initially reveal earlier this year, longtime fans of the bloody fighting series should be excited for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X to bring its particular brand of violence to current-gen consoles, and series creator Ed Boon revealed just a little bit more on what to expect from the latest installment.
During an interview with Mad Catz, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon spoke on the possibilities of guest characters making an appearance in Mortal Kombat X after the well-received inclusion of guest characters like Freddy Kreuger and Kratos in Mortal Kombat (2011), and for Scorpion’s appearance in Injustice: Gods Among Us. In particular, Boon mentioned that the appearance of guest characters from other media/game series would seem to be likely, as Boon said:
“That was something that was embraced in Injustice and in Mortal Kombat. I think there’s a novelty to having a downloaded guest character, so, I think the chances are pretty high. I don’t think every single one of them will be a guest, but I think the chances of at least one of them will be pretty good.”
Mortal Kombat X will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2015.
