Mortal Shell is Surprisingly Releasing in Two Weeks
Mortal Shell finally has a release date and it's set to arrive later this month on August 18 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Following its successful open beta phase on PC just a few weeks back which saw over 350,000 players taking part, Cold Symmetry and Playstack have announced the launch date for Mortal Shell, and it’s set to arrive far sooner than you might expect.
Divulged in a new trailer, Mortal Shell, the latest Soulslike from the small indie team at Cold Symmetry, is set to arrive in a little less than two weeks on August 18. At launch, the game will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC exclusively via the Epic Games Store. In 2021, the title is then set to make its way over to Steam.
As for the new trailer itself, what was shown was primarily many of the different locales that the game will take you two. Lasting for nearly two minutes, the video also showed off some new gameplay footage, new enemy types, and a handful of bosses that you’ll come across throughout the experience. Craziest of all, there’s even the reveal that Mortal Shell will feature some sort of bazooka weapon, which looks awesome.
As someone who previewed the Mortal Shell beta for us here at DualShockers, I actually came away pretty positive from it. While it takes a lot of queues from the Dark Souls series, Mortal Shell is at the very least trying to implement some new ideas into the core experience to differentiate it from other titles in the genre. Hopefully, the finished product will end up being able to stand on its own two feet.
So do you have any interest in Mortal Shell? Will you be looking to pick it up later this month? Let me know down in the comments.
