When some people look at Pokémon, they see cute and cuddly creatures to collect and adventure alongside while others see a delicious meal. It may seem dark, but the reality is that Pokémon are consumed just as we consume animals and creatures in our world.

With over 900 Pokémon currently in the series, there are bound to be some mouth-watering dishes made from these monsters. From sentient apple pies to floating ice cream cones, some Pokémon look undeniably tasty.

10 Tropius

Tropius Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Tropius is an interesting one, and one that's consumption doesn't have to be morbid, necessarily. Tropius appears to grow banana-like fruits from its chin. The Pokémon give the appearance of a giant plant, which would insinuate that it can be harvested without harming the monster too much.

Pokémon producing food products without harm to the Pokémon itself is something that does happen in the in-game world, Miltank and its milk is a prime example, so Tropius not only looks delicious but is likely the best candidate for food production out of any on this list.

9 Exeggcute

Exeggcute Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Exeggcute is just a bundle of eggs with faces. Who wouldn't eat these guys? One of them is always cracked for some reason, so we know there's a yolk inside too. Which Pokémon laid these eggs? Is that just how they are? Who knows. They would make a mean breakfast meal. Exeggcute could stand on its own or go alongside a nice meaty dish.

Eggs are a very versatile ingredient in cooking, and Exeggcute is sure to serve a similar role in the world of Pokémon. Its evolution, Exeggutor, doesn't look nearly as appetizing so be sure to eat these Pokémon up while they're young. There's nothing demented about that statement at all.

8 Clauncher

Clauncher Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Clauncher looks like it would be a delicacy. Based on a real-world Pistol Shrimp, an animal that is dangerous for humans to consume, a dish made from a Clauncher may not be viable but that certainly doesn't make it look any less tasty.

Clauncher definitely belongs in a Michelin Star restaurant. Clauncher cocktail, Clauncher Étouffée, the list goes on. By the looks of it, this Pokémon could definitely feed some very important people in a very fancy dining establishment.

7 Miltank

Miltank Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Miltank is one of the most obvious choices for likely edible Pokémon. Being most similar to real-life cows, many dairy products like milk and cheeses could come from this creature, and it is likely that Miltank meat could be eaten in the same way as well.

The largest moral conundrum with eating Miltank is that it's bipedal, which makes it much more human-like. And much more unsettling. But at the end of the day, who would pass up on a nice juicy Miltank burger?

6 Smoliv

Smoliv Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Unlike most other Pokémon mentioned on this list, Smoliv may not need to be slaughtered to be consumed. Like Tropius, Smoliv appears to grow edible food that may be harvestable without causing damage to the Pokémon itself.

How to best harvest and eat parts of Smoliv can be difficult to decipher. In the real world, olives grow on trees rather than small plant monsters. Pokémon also have some insane anatomical makeups, so for all we know Smoliv's olive head may contain its brain or some other vital organ.

5 Swirlix

Swirlix Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Swirlix gives major marshmallow vibes but is actually supposed to be a cotton candy-themed Pokémon. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry outlines its own need for sugar, even eating its own weight in sweets each day. How a Pokémon manages to survive on nothing but sugar is anyone's guess, but Swirlix manages to do it.

This Pokémon is sure to send the consumer into a sugar coma, but it's surely worth it. Swirlix would be a great treat while at a festival or a carnival, and its stick-like leg can double as a handle for easier eating.

4 Appletun

Appletun Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Appletun is undeniably one of the tastiest looking Pokémon. It is a giant walking apple pie, with emphasis on giant. This Pokémon weighs in at a whopping 28lbs, which may not be all that large by Pokémon's standards, but for an apple pie, that's a hefty weight.

Appletun's whole evolution family looks tasty. Applin, Flapple, and Appletun are all based on an apple, but with Appletun being the sweetest among them, it was the chosen delegate from this line of Pokémon.

3 Vanillite

Vanillite Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Vanillite deserves a spot on this list since its based on appearance. Vanillite's Pokédex entry outlines that, though this Pokémon looks like, and is likely named after, vanilla soft-serve, it is actually just bland snow and ice.

This means that the Pokémon likely wouldn't taste all that great, but it still gives the appearance of a tasty treat. It has two further evolutions, Vanillish and Vanilliuxe, though these two Pokémon look a little too threatening and sharp to be tasty.

2 Cherubi

Cherubi Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Cherubi is an obvious choice for a gathering of tasty Pokémon. It is said that in the world of Pokémon, trainers and citizens alike enjoy the flavors of Cherubi. It is based on a cherry and would surely make a delicious jam or dessert.

Cherubi is not only delicious but also nutrient-dense, being eaten by people and many other Pokémon. This guy may have gotten the short end of the stick when it came to survivability and its species probably wouldn't last long in the wild without being cultivated and farmed.

1 Alcremie

Alcremie Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Wild Area

Alcremie is hands down the tastiest looking Pokémon. This Pokémon looks sweet and cute, cute enough that you may feel bad for eating it, but it would be worth the guilt. This can be avoided by strengthening the relationship between the trainer and Pokémon, however.

When Alcremie is happy, it gives off a sweeter tasting cream and even treats its trainer to gifts of berries that it grows itself. It is a strange Pokémon, but definitely, one that would satisfy a late-night craving for sweets.
