PlayStation VR players won't have to wait too much longer to smash blocks in Beat Saber with their friends.According to a tweet from the game's official Twitter page, the multiplayer build is being finalized and should be ready to be tested sometime next week. The developers consider this to be an "important milestone" and ensured players that the game will be updated when new information is ready to be released. No other information regarding the PS VR multiplayer build is known at this time.

Multiplayer isn't necessarily new to Beat Saber. It was released on other platforms in October 2020 as part of a large update to the game that also introduced a new user interface and character customization options. At the time, developer Beat Games said the PS VR update may get pushed back, so it doesn't come as a surprise that PlayStation gamers had to wait an additional three months. If you're as bad at Beat Saber as I am, you probably didn't mind waiting longer to embarrass yourself in front of your friends anyway.

Since its early access release in 2018, Beat Saber has been a very popular game in the gaming community as a whole. It has won numerous awards, including Best VR/AR Game at The Game Awards in 2019, and also holds a 93/100 on Metacritic. In Dualshockers' review of the game, we said “[It] has just about everything [we] want from a rhythm game” and that "[It] is the perfect example of a virtual reality rhythm game done right."

Beat Saber is currently available on Steam, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, and the PlayStation Store.
