Multiplayer Combat Game Mirage: Arcane Warfare Launches May 23, 2017

Multiplayer Combat Game Mirage: Arcane Warfare Launches May 23, 2017

Today, developer Torn Banner Studios — who you may recognize from Chivalry: Medieval Warfare — announced that its multiplayer combat game, Mirage: Arcane Warfare, is set to release for PC on May 23, 2017. Pre-orders for the game begin today at 10:00 a.m on its Steam page.

Also today, is the launch of the game’s Closed Beta. Early adopters of the game — aka those who preorder either the Standard or Special Edition — will gain instant access to the Beta as well as the ability to grant one additional “Friend Key,” which will allow you to invite one person, even if that said person hasn’t preordered. The Closed Beta runs until the game’s launch.

The Closed Beta will feature all six character classes and two tiers of swappable magic abilities, and will rotate periodically through a total of eleven different enviroments and five gameplay modes. Players will also be introduced to a new character called the Entropist, a burly mage with a penchant for bar fights, wine and vulgarity, and who can heal allies and summon a flying carpet. You can see his reveal in the final moments of the new walkthrough trailer (which is at the bottom of the article).

Torn Banner Studios President Steve Piggott accompanied the release date announcement and Closed Beta launch with the following statement:

Mirage is at a crucial state of development, so we’re really looking forward to sharing what we’ve been so proud to work on in the Closed Beta,. Seeing and reading real reactions from gamers will help us tune the final product to make the ultimate skill-based combat game.”

Never heard of Mirage: Arcane Warfare, but want to know more? No problem: here’s an overview via Torn Banner Studios:

In Mirage: Arcane Warfare, the calm of a strange fantasy world is shattered by ruthless civil war. Warriors armed with steel and magic bring violence and death as they do battle across a fantastical Arabian and Persian-inspired setting of desert sands, market bazaars and grand palaces.

Mirage is a skill-based multiplayer FPS that lets you tear your enemies limb from limb with destructive magic and melee combat. Experiment and find your perfect playstyle between six diverse classes including stealthy assassins, hulking brutes, powerful mages and more. With an unparalleled focus on truly feeling in control of your magic and sword, Mirage demands combat creativity and will challenge you like never before.

A NEW COMBAT SYSTEM TO MASTER
