The internet is still reeling from the announcement of Fallout 4 earlier today, but while the reveal didn’t point to a release date for the title, multiple retailers have.
Most compelling among them is Bethesda’s own store having a ship date of “TBA 2015” both when you view the item and when you add it to your cart. The store is however run through Think Geek so it is possible that it’s simply a place-holder date.
The store page has since been updated to only say “TBA” removing the 2015 from the date.
Amazon and GameStop each have the game listed for December 31st 2015, though that is a common placeholder date for when the release date is unknown. However EB Games Australia sent out the following image (posted later to NeoGAF) promoting the game after its announcement.
A release this soon after an announcement wouldn’t be unusual for Bethesda or even the Fallout franchise, as Fallout New Vegas was announced and released within only seven months (March 2010 to October 2010).
Hopefully we hear more in terms of a release date from Bethesda during their conference at E3, but until then, all this is conjecture.
