Early this morning, Mutant Football League's Kickstarter concluded with $138,092 USD raised and with the smashing of its $60,000 USD goal by nearly $80,000. Additionally, the game reached and surpassed every single one of its stretch goals, including its last one which adds a Full Season 13 game season with playoffs mode.

For those that don't know, Mutant Football League is an NFL Blitz arcade-style football game, featuring nasty mutants and ferocious monsters, and tons of gore and death. The game first emerged onto the scene in 1993, when EA released Mutant Football League onto the Sega Genesis. The game went on to become a hit among both gamers and critics, and cemented itself as a classic.

Now, according to Digital Dreams Entertainment, its take on the iconic game “is a completely new and totally original take." The overall presentation of MFL has been re-visualized from its predecessors, but the same sense of urgency that’s an inherent part of a real-world football (American football for you international readers) is said to still be the core of the new versions’ gameplay.
