This week, Square Enix has announced via press release that a new entry in the MXGP series is in the works.
According to the publisher, MXGP Pro is set to be released on June 29 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A sequel to 2014s MXGP The Official Motocross Video Game, MXGP Pro is currently being developed by Milestone and design is based on community feedback and has been reconstructed using a new method Square Enix calls the “mechanical approach.” Players will be able to customize nearly every aspect of their bike, based on real values and metrics.
Square Enix has also stated that the knowledge gained from previous entries in the franchise has led to this latest experience, which enhances racing that apparently redefines the genre. Some new features fans can look forward to includes a new bike set-up system, which will encourage players to customize every single detail of their ride. A unique physics approach, providing players limitless movements with a retooled grips collisions, and air behaviors system, as well as more realistic animations for the rider, just to name a few.
On top of that, to add make this the most realistic entry in the series to date, Milestone has formed an exclusive partnership with pro motocross racers Tim Gajser, Tony Cairoli, and Gautier Paulin. Thanks to their feedback, Milestone is confident that MXGP Pro is going to push the envelope with realism in motocross games.
