On Monday, the official website for the TV anime My Home Hero released a new visual for the series and revealed three new cast members. The upcoming anime, slated to air in April 2023, is based on the manga of the same name written by Naoki Yamakawa and illustrated by Masashi Asaki.

The series is about a middle-aged salaryman, Tetsuo Tosu, as he becomes entangled in the criminal underworld. The average toy maker gets involved in a life of crime after confronting and accidentally killing his daughter’s abusive boyfriend.

The anime adaptation of the manga was announced back in June, but things are starting to pick up speed as cast and visuals get released. The newest key visual is remarkable and really plays at Tetsuo living a double life. The three new cast announcements released with the visual include Koichi Yamadera (Spike in Cowboy Bebop) as Shino, Katsuhiro Tokuishi as Takeda, and Mitsuhiro Sakamaki as Tabata. As a recap, previously announced cast include, but are not limited to, Junichi Suwabe as Tetsuo Tosu, Sayaka Ohara as Kasen Tosu, and Chihiro Shirata as Reika Tosu.

The anime series is directed by Takashi Kamei at Tezuka Productions, who was also the director of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind episode. Kohei Kiyasu is spearheading the series composition, Masatsune Noguchi is handling character designs, and music will be brought to you by Mob Psycho 100’s Kenji Kawai.

The original manga, which was compared to Breaking Bad by IGN France’s Erwan Lafleuriel, has been serialized in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Magazine since May 2017, and its chapters have been compiled into 19 tankōbon volumes. The manga is also licensed in France by Kurokawa and in Spain by ECC Ediciones. The official, exact release date is coming.
