Mythic Quest: Ravenâs Banquet a comedy about video game developers from the producers of Itâs Always Sunny In Philadelphia is coming to Apple TV+. The live-action comedy will consist of nine half-hour episodes that will be available to binge-watch in its entirety on Friday, February 7, 2020. Executive producer Rob McElhenney will also star as the fictional companyâs creative director, Ian Grimm. Ashly Burch, one of gamingâs most prolific voice actors known for roles like Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn and Chloe Price from Life Is Strange, is also featured in the show. Itâs not known how big of a part Burch will have, but IMDBâs Mythic Quest page has her featured as appearing in just one episode.
The trailer begins as if it were a reveal for an actual video game complete with a legendary game environment filled with knights and dragons. A cinematic voice-over declares, âIn a world of legendary heroes, one man will rise to takeâ¦all of the credit.â This sets up an introduction to McElhenneyâs Ian Grimm character, the egotistical lead director of the popular massively multiplayer role-playing game Mythic Quest. Grimm quickly makes the entire gameâs focus on himself, much to the chagrin of his co-workers, especially the women working on the game.
Aside from McElhenney, Mythic Quest stars F. Murray Abraham, Danny Pudi, Imani Hakim, Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Ashly Burch, and Jessie Ennis. The team behind it created the series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz. The series is produced by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment and Ubisoft. It was previously shown at Ubisoft's E3 2019 press conference.
Rob McElhenney assured fans of Itâs Always Sunny In Philadelphia that Mythic Quest will in no way interfere with Sunny.
