Namco Bandai Opens New Studio

This morning Namco Bandai Holdings has announced that the company has formed a new development studio: Namco Bandai Studio.

This new studio will take over responsibilities for franchises Tekken, SoulCalibur, Taiko Drum Master, Gundam, and the Tales series, as well as the creation of new IPs. The company is essentially made up of all development areas of Namco Bandai assimilating into their own company, with Namco Bandai Games taking charging of the rest of matters. The Studio will include over 1,000 staff members, including 80 taken from Namco Tales Studio earlier this year.

Namco Bandai Holdings has state that splitting Namco Bandai Games development off into a single company will lead to speedier, more optimized development times, as well as providing a better environment to nurture the creativity and skill of its team. The company’s official start state is April 2 and will be located in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
