Play out the future of LeBron James in what seems like the ultimate fan fiction.

In LeBron: Path to Greatness, you will play out the the entire career of LeBron James up until his retirement. There's a couple of ways this will branch off. In the first scenario he stays with the Miami Heat and makes them the greatest basketball dynasty in history. The next scenario he becomes a member of the New York Knicks when he becomes a free agent.

In this fantastical fever dream called "Fantasic Journey," certain NBA legends come out of retirement to join James in his tenure as a Knickerbocker. LeBron James will provide the voice-over for himself naturally. Oh, and you will play some basketball I guess.

LeBron will gain new rivals, deal with getting older and losing abilities. This is almost sounds like a the campaign mode for NBA 2K14.

I like the idea of having a story mode involving these crazy "what if?" scenarios in my sports games.

NBA 2K14 is due out October 1st 2013 on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. "Path to Greatness" is only available on PS3 and Xbox 360 though.
