Former Cleveland Cavaliers starting point guard, Kyrie Irving, was officially traded to the Boston Celtics last week. This caused a stir in the NBA 2K community since the NBA 2K18 cover star would not appear on his actual team. Promptly after the trade, 2K Games released a statement revealing that a second cover of Irving in a Celtics uniform would be released at a later date.

Recently, 2K Games announced former NBA all-stars “The Black Mamba” Kobe Bryant and “The Big Ticket” Kevin Garnett would appear as guest commentators in the latest addition to the NBA 2K series. The trailer showcasing the two player’s broadcasting skills also gave us our very first look of Irving in action with the Boston Celtics.

NBA 2K18 will launch for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Switch on September 19.
