This week the folks from 2K Sports came to town to celebrate the upcoming launch of NBA 2K19. This year's iteration marks the 20th anniversary of the franchise, which places it firmly among the longest running sports titles of all time. 2K put together a star studded event that featured a handful of the NBA's rising talents, as well other familiar faces and personalities from TV, Movies, and other professional sports. The event space - a huge warehouse in Brooklyn - featured every title in the series' history, with a Sega Dreamcast front and center showcasing it's very first entry of the franchise.

During our time at the party, we had a chance to catch up with NBA 2K Gameplay Director, Mike Wang, who shared some insight as to how his team handles and then implements changes based on community feedback. We also spoke with Ronnie "Ronnie2K" Singh - the person in charge of engagement for the NBA 2K product. Ronnie manages relationships with the fans of the franchise as well as the very NBA talent featured in the game. During our chat he shares a funny story about the lengths some NBA players will go in hopes of snagging a better in-game rating for their digital self. And then last but not least, we caught up with one of the more vocal and outspoken YouTubers for NBA 2K: Agent 00, who dishes out some initial thoughts from the event and what he's hoping to see in this year's title.

Enough from me, check out the video for yourself below.

NBA 2K19 will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The game is scheduled to release Friday September 7th for those who pre-order (hopefully through this trusty Amazon affiliate link), with a general release set for Tuesday, September 11th.
