NBA 2K21 was formerly announced at today's PS5 event. Of course, they didn't show much outside of presumed coverboy Zion Williamson sweating a whole lot. But listen, that sweat looks great. It looks like they threw virtual Zion into a sauna before he hit the court. Give the whole teaser a watch below.

Literal buckets of sweat juice flowing off that man.

Okay, my weird obsession with next-gen sweat aside, there's not a ton to go off from this trailer. We already know sports games are going to look great on PS5 and Xbox Series X. That's basically a given at this point.

What we don't know yet is all the details around the game. Granted, the 2K series is one of the better sports sims on the planet; however, it's worth paying attention to what modes 2K decides to bring over to the next generation.

Often times, studios have to scale back their modes as they make the transition to next-gen. It remains to be seen if that will be the case this go-around, but it's worth noting. Will 2K simply focus on its heavily-monetized MyTeam mode at the expense of everything else? I mean, probably. But you have to hope they don't abandon everything else completely.

Of course, everything at this point is just speculation. Until 2K starts to walk through the features and modes for 2K21, we can't be sure what they're doing. Hopefully, that comes in the next few weeks.

NBA 2K21 will come to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X later this year. Other platforms could be added down the line.
