Although players won't notice any immediate changes in today's update, it does mean Season 7 is right around the corner.

UPDATE: The developers have confirmed the release of Season 7 later this week, with patch notes being shared at a later date.

ORIGINAL STORY: Although yet to be confirmed by Visual Concepts, Season 7 of NBA 2K22 is expected to launch on Friday, May 20th, 2022.

The developers always release a new patch a few days prior to the launch of the new season. Currently, the May 16 update only appears to be available on current-gen consoles, with users reporting a download size of 37GB, but this may vary depending on your platform.

It's likely that today's patch will roll out for next-gen consoles and PC at a later time or date, with all users being able to download the patch before the release of Season 7.
