Today at Electronic Art’s EA Play event in California, developer EA Tiburon revealed some interesting new details from its upcoming basketball game NBA Live 18.
First off, and most importantly, the title will introduce a brand new way to play. This new feature is called The One, and it will allow players to earn respect and other items in not just League play, but also Street play. In Street play, you can take on NBA legends at iconic locations around the United States. Venice Beach was one of the locations highlighted in the reveal. The developer also confirmed that the choices you make in the Street play will directly affect you in League play. Players will also be able to completely customize their character. More details on this new feature will arrive in the future according to EA.
EA Tiburon also announced that a demo for the title will be coming in August. And best of all, your progress will carry over into the full game. No other details about the demo, like what it will entail, what exact date it will drop, or what platforms it will be available on, were announced.
NBA Live is the rival to 2K’s NBA 2K18 in the basketball simulation space, though EA in recent years has largely trailed behind 2K, as the last few installments have been fumbled, and been not preferred to the NBA 2K series.
NBA Live 18 will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox, Android, and iOS devices in Q4 of 2017. Below, you can check out the newly released gameplay trailer:
