The action-packed, basketball style game NBA Playgrounds 2, which was previously published by Mad Dog Games, has been affected by a rather relevant change. The news came to light this morning when 2K Sports and Saber Interactive announced the deal. Of course, this all now makes sense on why NBA Playgrounds had been delayed a week before its actual release, much to the annoyance of their many fans.
The change marks a new name, which will be NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, and brings forth a new logo, which you can see above.
Visual Concepts President Greg Thomas accompanied the press release with a statement:
“The original NBA Playgrounds was a fantastic throwback to the glory days of arcade-action sports. The new NBA 2K Playgrounds 2will step up this energy and attitude big time – with a bit of added NBA 2K flair – giving fans of both franchises an exciting new way to game with friends around the world.”
Saber Interactive CEO Matt Karch also provided a comment on the change:
“No one is more committed to bringing fans a great basketball experience than 2K. We can’t wait to share more on how we’re teaming up to make NBA 2K Playgrounds 2’s incredible arcade action bigger and better than ever for players”
NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 will launch this fall on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
