Earlier this year, Saber Interactive announced that NBA Playgrounds 2 had been delayed merely a week before it was scheduled to release. In the moment, the delay was highly odd but it made more sense eventually.

A few months later, Saber Interactive re-emerged and announced that they had joined forces with 2K Sports to re-brand the franchise as NBA 2K Playgrounds with a new release window of this Fall. As of today, we now know exactly when that release date will be.

2K Sports and Saber Interactive announced today that NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 will officially launch next month on October 16. The 2-on-2 arcade basketball game will include 300 players at launch with the promise of 200 more being added later on. Not only will today's most popular NBA superstars be available for play, but legends such as Michael Jordan, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, and Kareem Abdul-Jabaar will also be included.

NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 will retail for $29.99 and will come to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Hopefully, this one turns out better than its predecessor.
