Oh yes college football fans, it’s almost that time of year again. You’ve just signed your dream recruits, spring practice is about to start and to kick off that wonderful time of year, EA Sports has unveiled its first look at NCAA Football 11. Not only will there be new and improved graphics, but also some enhancements to the game play. Here are some of the improvements the EA team has made:
Referees are Smarter (no really): If you have played any of the College Football games of the past, you noticed that the zebras were no where in sight during play. Well, those days are over. Refs will be on the field and unlike the days of PS2, when you could run through them, now they are real and in the action. But on a good note, they have AI that will keep them out of your way during plays. Unless they are like real Refs!
Gang Tackling: Oh yes, you heard right, gang tackling. A feature being brought over from Madden. No longer will you have to worry about the solo, as your team will attack right along with you.
Auto Save: A feature that has been needed for years. Every gamer is guilty of turning off their system before the save is through. Or your dog runs by your console and accidentally turns it off (it happens, trust me). Nice add!
Auto Load Rosters: When you change a roster in Dynasty or download a roster you want to use, it will be saved and not dumped like in the past.
Formation Subs: Have personnel you want in the game just for a certain formation? EA has you covered. 5 wide with your fastest players on the field makes since. And now you can do it. A feature that hasn’t been available since the PS2 days. Now you can go into each formation and change players around as you see fit.
New Equipment: New helmets, sleeves, visors, braces, facemasks, sleeves, oh my! Revolution Speed helmet, nuff said!
Single Bowl Season: No more waiting three weeks in the bowl season for an opponent to finish with their season, which is the case if you played the Online Dynasty. Everything is right at your fingertips.
Dynamic Conference Logos: If you played NCAA Football 10 last year, and you switched a team from one conference to another, the logo of their old conference stayed on their field. No more. This may seem like a small thing, but hey, college football fans are a proud bunch.
Numbers on Helmets: Bama fans take note. Your dream has indeed come true. And if you create a team in the Team Builder, and you want numbers on your helmets, then you got that too.
Looks like EA has taken the advice from fans to tweak the little things. Everyone has said for years that EA has needed to do a better job at the little things. Looks like they are on the right track. Stay tuned to DualShockers for the latest news on NCAA Football 11.
