As promised, the announcement trailer for the new Need For Speed title was shared today, unveiling Need For Speed Unbound as the next title in the series coming from Criterion Games, the same studio that delivered Need For Speed Hot Pursuit.

Similar to its predecessor, Need For Speed Unbound will focus on illegal street racing once again. Set in the fictional city of Lakeshore, the player will begin the game as a rookie driver, trying to complete multiple races and activities to become famous enough to get into the city's biggest illegal racing tournament known as The Grand. As the game's official website reveals, players will need to earn enough cash during the week to be able to qualify for The Grand on the weekends. Apparently, the developers are trying to build a system similar to FIFA's Weekend League in NFS Unbound.

Probably the signature feature of Need For Speed Unbound is its unique visual style that combines realistic vehicles with graffiti effects and street art. You will witness these one-of-a-kind visual effects when drifting, using nitro bursts, or collapsing with other cars.

Visiting this link, you can get your first detailed look at Lakeshore City's map, which contains a big downtown area in the east. While EA has not compared the map of the game to the previous titles, it seems like Unbound's map is bigger than its predecessors.

Hopefully, Criterion Games has shared the full car list of the game, which includes over 140 cars from different well-known manufacturers around the world. Most of the big American and European names such as Chevrolet, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche are spotted in the list, but if you need a detailed look, you can check it out here.

Need For Speed Unbound will be skipping the last-gen consoles, coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 2, 2022. Criterion Games is expected to reveal more in-depth gameplay trailers from the game in the near future, unveiling the car customization options, racing opportunities, and probably a character creator system.

Last but not least, the American rapper A$AP Rocky will also be available in the game as a playable character. The game will also feature a number of the singer's tracks.
