Naughty Dog Co-President Neil Druckmann adds some The Last of Us flavor to Elden Ring, outfitting his Tarnished as a TLOU-inspired Clicker.

It seems that even the biggest names in the game industry are entrenched in the world of FromSoftware's latest adventure, Elden Ring. Naughty Dog's Co-President and The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann has been steadily sharing his progress, sharing the fan base's awe for the game's stunning graphics.

Of course, like many others, Druckmann's experimented with some of Elden Ring's gorgeous armor sets. Bringing a little Last of Us flair, Druckmann dressed his Tarnished as a TLOU-inspired Clicker.

NEIL DRUCKMANN'S ELDEN RING CLICKER

FromSoftware's games have often been lauded for their armor and clothing design (especially Dark Souls 3, which was nicknamed "Fashion Souls"). RPGs provide awesome opportunities for players to truly customize themselves in whatever style they desire, and the sheer range of available armor sets in Elden Ring brings that customization to another level.

Like many other players, Druckmann took to designing his own version of the Tarnished. Wearing the Mushroom Head and Body pieces, Druckmann turned his Tarnished into a Cordyceps-infected Clicker. Though this armor set doesn't provide much in the way of defense, it does boost player Immunity, Focus, and Vitality. Fitting, especially for a Clicker-inspired look.

The bloom of mushrooms cascades over the player's body, eye-catching and certainly reminiscent of the fungal infection of TLOU. Though, it's a less terrifying rendition of what the Cordyceps infection actually looks like. Druckmann completes the look with a sly nod to the Clicker's telltale sound - "Click, click, click."

This isn't the first time Druckmann has drawn a parallel between Elden Ring and The Last of Us. Looking at the expanse of Scarlet Rot, he at one point remarked that Elden Ring's Caelid region resembled a kind of "Clicker Land." Though Scarlet Rot won't turn the Tarnished into any kind of zombie, it will steadily deal some annoying damage over time.

Either way, it's remarkable to see connections between two incredibly popular games. Druckmann has continued to share his Elden Ring journey on Twitter - perhaps there will be other The Last of Us tributes in the future.

Elden Ring is available to play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additionally, The Last of Us is available on PS4.
