Compile Heart and Idea Factory International announced yet another Neptunia spinoff game, this time it's a retro shoot'em up titled Neptunia Shooter, coming to PC via Steam in 2019.Neptunia Shooter was initially revealed as a 2019 April Fool's joke but turned out to be real. The game has old school pixel-art graphics and puts players in the shoes of Neptune. As you progress through the game's six different stages and defeat the boss characters like Iffy, you'll be able to use them as Friend characters in future runs. The Friend characters each modify Neptune's shooting patterns in a unique way.The game will have an online leaderboard, and you'll be able to compare scores with other players that way. Compile Heart highly wishes for players to compete with each other and share their runs, with the Steam In-Home Streaming being compatible with the game. Lastly, Neptunia Shooter will include multiple retro-style BGMs, but has no voiceovers. This is unsurprising considering the budget needed to record new voice clips definitely isn't what to expect from a game which started from an April Fool's joke. The game's logo and a few screenshots were published as well. More information and a precise release date will be coming later. The original April Fool's joke tweet by Idea Factory International, showing a short gif of Neptunia Shooter, is also included below.Another Neptunia game, Super Neptunia RPG, is also coming to PC this summer. Mega Miracle Force, the mobile game celebrating Idea Factory's 25th anniversary, is also available now in Japan.
