It’s been just over a year since the first season of Castlevania’s anime was released on Netflix, focusing on the escapades of Trevor Belmont as he battles his way through waves of Dracula’s demons and monsters. The sharp and beautifully animated series ran for four episodes. Although the second season has been pushed back from a summer release to being set to hit our screens in the fall; Netflix has given us our first taste of what’s in store for fans of the classic video game franchise through a new blood-thirsty trailer.
Belmont and his magician accomplice Sypha Belnades are now joined by fan-favorite Alucard. However, it seems that Dracula is no longer playing around as he seeks vengeance on all of Wallachia for his murdered wife. The action-heavy trailer continuously shows people meeting violent ends while piles of bodies are being carted off and laid out in the town square. As the tension ramps up, it seems that Season 2 will be a much gorier affair than 2017’s Season 1.
Castlevania Season 2 will be twice as long as the original, sporting eight episodes, and is booked to hit Netflix on October 26, just in time for Hallowe’en. The show has already been cleared for a third season.
