Netflix The Witcher took to Twitter to share some high-resolution concept art for the series' major villain, The Wild Hunt.

Entrenched in chaos, destruction, and discovery, The Witcher Season 2 was an action-packed continuation of Geralt and Ciri's story. This time, the series focused on the mystery behind Ciri's powers and the increasing number of "new" monsters. Undoubtedly, fans eagerly watched the new season when it released, so much so that The Witcher is now one of Netflix's most-viewed shows of all time.

The Season 2 finale offered an especially enticing glimpse at a major The Witcher villain - the Wild Hunt. At the end of the finale episode "Family," Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri watch as the skeletal riders rise from the dust. Though we only see them for a moment, it's obvious that they'll pose a serious threat in the coming story.

Luckily, for any fans eager to see more, Netflix has released high-resolution images of concept art of the Wild Hunt. Clad in metal bones and spikes, the Wild Hunt presents a truly intimidating front - each member with their own unique design.

AN IN-DEPTH LOOK AT THE WITCHER WILD HUNT CONCEPT ART

In order to truly show their intimidating nature, The Witcher production team worked to create distinct looks for each member of the Wild Hunt. According to showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, production designer Andrew Laws led all of the show's creature concept design, including these designs for the Wild Hunt.

In a video from the Witcher YouTube, Laws began the drawings for the Wild Hunt, ensuring that each member individually stood out. Each uses a different silhouette and different skeletal armor, all unified by the common aspect of chain-mail armor. Eredin in particular boasts a stunning crowned-helmet design, perfectly fit for a king.

The Wild Hunt, or the "Wraiths of Mörhogg," are a group of Aen Elle elves dead set on capturing Ciri. Though the Netflix show is just beginning to establish them as something more than a mythical portent of doom, they're certainly a threat to behold.

Additionally, Hissrich has stated that these individual designs point to the fact that they're all characters with different backstories. This means it's entirely possible we'll see more of each member's history and life in Season 3.

Originally, the games place a heavy focus solely on Eredin; it'll be fascinating to see how the show expands on the Hunt as a whole. Even the Voleth Meir, the Deathless Mother, gets a special Wild Hunt design. The skull helmet is no doubt appropriately terrifying for the orchestrator of tragedy.

Where this series goes in Season 3 is, unfortunately, yet to be known. However, it's clear that Geralt, Yen, and Ciri will have to deal with a truly formidable enemy.
