You may recall the title Neverwinter Nights as the BioWare RPG that released in 2002. You may also more specifically remember it as the game that defined the Forgotten Realms fantasy setting and utilized the Dungeons & Dragons third edition rule set, sparking countless mods and multiplayer communities.Recently, developer Beamdog took to Twitter to reveal that the next project it would be reviving (as it has previously done with Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment) Neverwinter Nights via an enhanced edition. More importantly, the developer will be hosting a livestream of it on Twitch later today.

Of course, the biggest question that fans of the original title will have is "what does this enhanced edition actually do?" According to GameInformer the Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition will include various graphical improvements, including 1080p and 4K resolutions, new preferred display options, and perhaps most importantly improved support for modders.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition will also allow players to utilize previously built saved games and mods from the original game, meaning that a massive library of content is already waiting for those who purchase it.

Beamdog has yet to reveal a release date for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, but one is expected to come soon. The developer has indicated that pre-orders should be made available later today for $20.
