New 4X Strategy Game Endless Space Promises Gamer Interaction During Development

Amplitude Games is a new studio founded by former Ubisoft and EA developers and other employees, and their first game promises to be pretty interesting. Endless Space is a 4X strategy game along the lines of Sins of a Solar Empire, which is being developed at their offices in Paris.

What’s most interesting about this game is the way the developers are approaching it – they want to get gamers themselves involved in the development process, then, perhaps they will realize the difficulties and accomplishments that come along with the job. The trailer I’ve stashed after the break explains things in more detail, but as just a brief overview, the developers plan to make the community active in designing, discussing and previewing the game during various stages of development, so they can help mold the game into what they want it to be.

If you’re interested in signing up for the process, you can head on over to the Endless Space site and check things out. Perhaps you can be instrumental in helping to put the 4X space strategy game genre back on the map?
