Well, that escalated quickly. Aliens: Colonial Marines isn't Sega's first foray into the "Aliens" franchise, as we've seen a more than forgettable entry in the past, but it does mark the first time that Gearbox receives the chance to put their own flavor on the series. To say that Gearbox pays attention to detail, is an understatement. As fans of this franchise, it looks like they're about to take the games to a new level.

Today the team released their "Kick Ass" trailer, and just like its title infers, the clip is about, well... kicking Alien ass. Aliens: Colonial Marines will add to the "Aliens" canon when it releases on February 12th for XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3.
