New Camelot Unchained Update Talks Stealth, Skills, Upcoming Updates. Game Overtakes the $900,000 Mark.

Camelot Unchained just broke the $900,000 wall on Kickstarter, with $905,473 pledged at the moment of this writing by 5,757 brave backers. Today City State Entertainment Founder Mark Jacobs posted another juicy update, in which he addresses a few of the mails and comments he received trying to persuade him to put a significant PvE component in the game.

Guess what? He isn’t going to do it, and if a developer able and very willing to speak his mind rather clearly and very bluntly isn’t something you can withstand, beware of Mark Jacobs, because he’s been doing just that for several years. That’s one of the ways in which he has earned my respect.

In the video included in the update (that you can see below) he talks about quite a few elements of combat. He specifies that stealth is going to be discussed, but won’t be an instant magical ability that can easily be turned on and off. Players will also have a large number of skills to play with, in contrast with the modern trend of limiting the available skills as much as possible. Finally he hints on what we can expect this week, including a possible first sighting of the Arthurians. We’ll also get to know the game’s stretch goals when the counter will hit $1,000,000 so if you’re curious, you better get those pledges in.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
