NIS America just released a new gameplay video for their oft-delayed upgrade to Nicalis' Cave Story, and it's sure full of gameplay. Fans of the original have had polarized opinions about the updated polygonal graphics, and it's not hard to see why; as an indie hipster jerk, I do enjoy the pixelated graphics a bit more.

Still, the gameplay looks sound, and perhaps even a bit tighter than the original. Hit the jump to see for yourself.

Personally, I'm still very excited to play this one, as it still looks like a fantastic remake regardless. Look for Cave Story 3D to finally hit shelves for the 3DS on November 8th.
