New Classics Will Be Added for the 3DS’s Virtual Console, Including Wario Land 3, Tecmo Bowl and Summer Carnival ’92: Recca

Several classic games were announced today for the 3DS Virtual Console eShop including Donkey Kong, available August 15th; Wario Land 3 available August 29th; Tecmo Bowl, available this Fall; Summer Carnival ’92: Recca, available later this year.

Recca is an obscure and notoriously difficult game for the original Famicon (NES for North Americans) made in 1992. Recca is particularly interesting as it was designed for a games festival in Japan and was known for pushing the Famicon cartrige to its limits with a smooth and consistent frame rate, no matter how many enemies were on the screen.

Super Mario Bros. 3 will also be available, this time for the Wii U eShop, later this year.
