New Club Nintendo Rewards Added, Actually Awesome

Looks like Nintendo just added a few more rewards to their Club Nintendo catalog the other day, and for once there’s some stuff there that actually looks quite nifty.  New additions include a variety of Super Mario Bros. Commemorative Pins for 450 coins each that actually look quite dapper, a couple Mario screensavers (people still use those, much less pay for them? Seriously?) for 10 coins each, and a tote and messenger bag for 250 and 550 coins each, respectively.

In the entirety of Club Nintendo’s existence, I’ve yet to even redeem any of my 1480 coins, in the hopes that they’d follow in Club Nintendo Japan’s footsteps and give us some truly awesome gifts, like the Super Mario Galaxy 2 soundtrack, or the Super Famicom Wii Controller.  After years of disappointment, a rad looking messenger bag and a couple pieces of shiny flair look pretty damned sexy to me, so if that’s what you wanted to accomplish Nintendo, I yield all my pretend money to you.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
