New Types Of Covenants Introduced In Halo TV Series

1. Unggoy Minor

Unggoy Minor

If you paid attention to the clash between Spartans and the Covenants in episode 5, you must have seen Unggoy Minor. It's the lowest class of the Covenant army, and quite easy to defeat. They are short in height and are equipped with a methane environmental suit.

Although they are easily taken care of, a large army of Unggoy Minor can be a serious threat. After their commander is killed, Unggoy Miron is seen to either retreat or look for a cover. In some instances, they might activate the plasma grenades and run towards the enemy, charging a suicide attack.

2. Kig-Yar Minor

Kig Yar Minor

Among all the Kig-Yar Covenants, Kig-Yar Minor are the lowest rank aliens. They are equipped with a Plasma Pistol, Plasma Rifle, Point Defense Gauntlets, and a Needler. They are easy to take down from a far distance by shooting at them on the exposed hand.

Both Unggoy and Kig-Yar can be seen in ground assaults, and they are usually posted as expendable cannon fodder. A large army of Kig-Yar can cause trouble for even the Spartans. While blocking the attacks with their shields, they attack with their plasma pistols to finish their enemies.

3. Jiralhanae Minor

New Covenants in Halo TV series

Jiranhanae Minor hardly engage in the battle in the fifth episode, but one of them came to collect the Artifact. Although Jiralhanae Minor is the lowest of its rank, they are extremely strong. When it came to collecting the artifact, John tries to stop it, but it attacked him with his weapon, which threw him a few meters away. John then tells Cortana, that he might need a weapon, but seeing Jiralhanae's power she replies that it might not help.

They are the most common enemies in the Halo 3 game, and in Halo 2, they have weak armor and no helmet. Despite shooting a few rounds of a gun at him, Jiranhanae Minor is unharmed, and he takes the artifact and leaves the place. Jiralhanae Minor are the youngest and the most inexperienced Covenant, but still hard to battle with.
