New DBZ Game Looks like More of the Same, Meaning it Looks Awful

A new game set in the epic world of Dragon Ball Z has been revealed. The game is called Dragon Ball Age Project 2011 and it will effectively make Dragon Ball Z the most milked Japanese cartoon franchise of all time. If that wasn’t bad enough, the title looks to follow in the footsteps of previous DBZ games with uninspired environments, design and game play. Of course, these are just assumptions made from the trailer for the game which you can judge for yourself after the break.

As a longtime fan of the anime, I cry a little bit every time a new DBZ game is announced because they tend to be unbelievably contrived and terrible. I’m not exaggerating, I don’t ever remember playing so much as a decent DBZ game and I’ve played ALL of the Tenkaichi releases. While I rightfully doubt it will, let’s hope that Dragon Ball Game Project Age 2011 breaks the long, long losing streak for the series when it hits HD consoles sometime this year. I probably would just skip out on hitting the break for the trailer if I were you.
