New Details and Images Leak from Destiny’s House of Wolves Expansion, Bungie Urges “Anything You Know About it Can Change”

While new content like December’s The Dark Below has kept players in Destiny looting and shooting for new gear and upgrades, details on the game’s upcoming second expansion, House of Wolves, have been relatively quiet up until now, where a crafty Reddit user was able to uncover a few things about the new expansion.

Posted by Reddit user megamanexe64, who has been playing the Japanese version of Destiny, new details emerged regarding some of the expansions new loot and gear, weapons, story content, a new level cap for Light, and possibly even the expansion’s release date. Screenshots posted by megamanexe64 show through an in-game message that House of Wolves will contain a dearth of content, including a new Awoken storyline and exclusive Raid, new Crucible maps and a new Strike, alongside “hundreds of new weapons, armor, and gear.

While megamanexe64 provided plenty of screenshots that appear to be straight from the game, Bungie community manager David Dague (known as “DeeJ”) took to the studio’s forums to urge users that details on House of Wolves are very likely to change until the expansion’s releases. Dague detailed in his forum post:

1. Aside from giving it a name, Bungie has yet to reveal the House of Wolves. That means that anything you know about it can change. We have a team working on the experience in their own fancy room, and they have some exciting surprises up their sleeves.

2. We reserve the right to overwrite anything you’re looking at right now. These placeholder items enable us to save room on your drive for actual future updates. You’ll all download them before it’s time to play.

3. Any stats or assumptions about power or impact or handsomeness are months old, and do not reflect the things that we’re doing to adapt to what you’ve taught us about Destiny. There is a process here, and you’re a part of it.

Leaks are fun. I totally get it. Please discuss to your heart’s content. All we ask is that you leave your mind open to the evolutions that are inevitable. What you see here are very old ghosts from our pre-launch database. These are not necessarily the wolves you’re looking for.

Destiny is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 – the game’s second expansion, House of Wolves, is currently in development for release in 2015. You can check out the full gallery of screenshots from Reddit user megamanexe64 below:
