Remedy Entertainment revealed their latest project Control last month at E3 and while its reveal trailer might not have indicated such, the game is a drastic departure for the studio.

Recently, Remedy has released a new video to talk about some of these differences of Control compared to their past work. Specifically, this new dev diary discusses the gameplay elements of Control and how they approached things this time around.

Much like my interview with Control's Game Director Mikael Kasurinen, the team talks about the open-ended nature of the game and how they wanted to prompt players to explore the world much more. They also touch on their approach to making this new style of gameplay work hand-in-hand with the storytelling that they've become synonymous for.

You can find the dev diary for Control below. Currently, Control doesn't have a specific launch window other than calendar-year 2019 but when it does arrive it'll be hitting PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more on Control, be sure to also check out my hands-off preview of the game from E3.
