The latest installment in the DOOM series is due out next year, and so far the game has been kept relatively under wraps. A closed beta is scheduled to begin on October 23, available only to those who purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order. Bethesda Softworks has released a three minute video clip that shows off some of the mechanics ahead of this weekend.

Players in the closed alpha will have a limited selection of the game available to this this weekend. Multiplayer modes are limited to 6v6 Deatmatch on one map, called Heatwave. A selection of six weapons and two pieces of equipment are included, and players can customize their own loadouts before heading into battle.

The DOOM closed alpha is available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The full game is scheduled for release in Spring 2016.
