Today Square Enix released a batch of new screenshots and information about Dragon Quest X: Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku Online, that will be released on the Wii this year and on the Wii U at a later date.

The village of Etene, home of the player characters, is a rather peculiar place. It’s guardian deity is Turtle-God (It’s Japanese name “Kame-sama” is a pun mixing Kame, that means Turtle, and Kami-sama, that means God) and all the villagers worship him, believing that the protection of the turtles will bring peace and prosperity.

The main character, that is regarded as the child of Turtle-God, seems to have a mysterious power hidden within. He’ll also meet Aba, the shrine maiden that serves Turtle-god.

The land around the village of Etene has many mysteries, and one of those is a hidden temple. Turtle-god himself will guide the main character to it, and that will mark the beginning of his adventure.

You can check out the screenshots released today in the gallery below.
