Atlus USA released an English trailer today for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei IV, coming out on July 16th for North America.

The trailer provides some backstory for the main character, who is a newly appointed Samurai in the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. He must fight against the ongoing demon threat that constantly plagues the otherwise protected city. And longtime fans will be in for an interesting surprise when watching the trailer–the protagonist is fully voiced, which is a series first.

We also get to see more gameplay footage, including a demonstration of the battle system and dungeon layouts. It also hints at the many choices the main character must make that influence his moral alignment, which is a mainstay attribute of the SMT series.

It’s good to see a Shin Megami Tensei IV trailer targeted toward the North Americans eagerly awaiting the game’s debut–I sure can’t wait myself for its arrival.
