New Etrian Odyssey IV Trailer Features the Fortress

If you read my MMORPG reviews (yes, I do know that Etrian Odyssey IV is not a MMORPG), you know I’m partial to tank classes. RPGs are not an exception, and when I have the liberty to chose my party, my main character is always the tank. That’s why the new Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends on the Titan trailer hits close to my heart.

It introduces the Fortress class, that is basically your usual, precious tank, replacing Hoplites from Etrian Odyssey III. They boast a combination of shield and mace to keep their allies alive and still dish out some damage.

I have to say I’m not too big of a fan of the mace, as I definitely preferred the spear used by the Hoplite and even more the longsword wielded by the Protector in Etrian Odyssey and Etrian Odyssey II, but I guess your mileage may vary here…

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
