New Europa Universalis IV Developer Diary Talks About Technology

As a fan of strategy games, Europa Universalis IV is definitely a game I’m looking forward to. While EU games won’t blind you won’t blind you with special effects, their depth is almost¬†unparalleled¬†in today’s market, and I’m quite sure you know, by now, that I tend to like deep games.

Today Paradox Interactive released a new developer diary video about the game, starring Project Lead Thomas Johanson as he explains what will change on the technology front from Europa Universalis III. Research will be more intuitive and specific, letting you actually discover single technologies instead of abstract tech levels. In addition to that new techs will be acquired with Monarch Power, forcing players to make meaningful decisions on where to spend their resources, instead of keeping scientific progress in its own airtight compartment.
