If you’re looking for an action-packed battle experience, Medal of Honor: Warfighter just might be the game for you. E3 gave us a trailer for the new title, but EA just released an extended version featuring much more gameplay. It’s worth a look – the trailer follows men dropping into a city-turned-battlefield in Somalia, and it does an excellent job of providing a sense of chaos on the field.
A hailstorm of bullets greets the soldiers as they come to shore, one of them piercing the player-character and knocking him right off of his feet into the water (don’t worry, he emerges a second later relatively unscathed). Following this introductory sequence is an exhibition of gameplay that focuses mostly on utilizing cover – which is much more realistically place than usual – and the scope on your weapon. NPC soldiers stumble and race around you, scarcely avoiding gunfire. The UI is fairly immersive and unobtrusive, which grants the player the ability to really imagine that they are actually in the field.
Curious? Take a look for yourself – just be sure to turn your speakers down if loud noises startle you.
