A new video was recently released for the upcoming first-person shooter: Far Cry 3. It features the game’s protagonist, Jason Brody, racing through a burning building to save one of the supporting characters, Lisa. I giggle every time I hear someone yell, “Jason!” in a video game (thanks a lot, Heavy Rain).

YouTube commenters responded to the trailer with more ire than anything else, with various claims that the game could be too much of a departure from the previous installments and their emphasis on sandbox gameplay. Cited were the parts of the trailer that allegedly utilized ‘overly scripted’ and ‘on-rails’ gameplay. There was also a comparison made to Call of Duty; surprised?

Far Cry 3 is being developed and published by Ubisoft and will be released in North America on September 4^th, 2012, with a release in Europe two days later. You can check out the video after the cut.
