New FFVII-Themed Trailer for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call Revealed, Contest Announced

Sqaure Enix released a new trailer for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call, featuring the music from Final Fantasy VII and its spin-off games/movie. The company also announced a new “Legacy of Music” contest starting on August 5th.

The trailer and additional screenshots, posted just below, showcases plenty of Theatrhythm music taken from the original Final Fantasy VII, the live-action movie sequel Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and the prequel game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

Meanwhile, a new contest has been revealed, in which participates must make a video of themselves performing the theme of Final Fantasy with any instrument. Each entry must be about one minute and thirty seconds long and should include a sign from participants stating their favorite Final Fantasy game.

The entries will be judged by legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu and the Grand Prize winner will receive the following:

  • Complimentary trip for two to attend an upcoming Distant Worlds: Final Fantasy concert
  • All of the official soundtracks for the numbered Final Fantasy titles
  • One Final Fantasy Static Arts Mini Figure
  • Signed Collector’s Edition of the game
  • Signed Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call Limited Edition Japanese Nintendo 3DS™ system

Runner ups will receive one of the several prizes stated above, barring the trip for two. The contest itself will last until August 24th. You can watch a video below of Destructoid Editor-in-Chief and classically trained musician Dale North demonstrating how each entry should be formatted.
