New Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Screenshots Show Primals and Beastmen

By Giuseppe Nelva

Today Square Enix revealed quite a few new screenshots of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. This time the spotlight is aimed on the some of the Primals (the game’s name for the old dear Final Fantasy summons) that will appear in the game and on the beastmen tribes that serve them.

We meet Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, Leviathan and Ramuh. While Ifrit and Garuda were already present in the first incarnation of Final Fantasy XIV, the other three are (relatively) new faces that I honestly can’t wait to beat into the ground.

We also catch a glimpse on the beastmen tribes that worship each of those primals: the nomadic desert tribe of the Amalj’aa, the mountain-dwelling Ixal,  the Kobolds, masters of alchemy and metallurgy, the sea-dwelling and savage Sahagin and the peaceful Sylphs.

You can enjoy the gallery that includes all the new screenshots below, and if you want to know more about Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn you can read my hands-on preview of the early beta here and my interview to Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida here.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
