Nintendo has released another firmware update to its 3DS portable,, which features the following improvements to the system as stated by Nintendo America:

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

Several modules were also updated across the global board (according to here and here):

  • Sockets system-module (basically the API for communicating over the network))
  • IR system module
  • NFC system module (Both Old and New 3DS variants)
  • Home Menu
  • Internet Browser (Both Old and New 3DS variants)

While only Japan received the following module updates:

  • System Settings
  • Activity Log

It’s possible that this update may also be patching another pirating program in order to disable its use. However, that has not been confirmed.
