New Ghosts of Meridian Images and Halo World Championship Finals Teased by 343 Industries

Beginning next week, several international teams will be duking it out in Halo 5: Guardians for the grand prize of $2.5 million. The teams have been slotted based on region, with eight North American, four European/African, two Australian/New Zealand, one Asian, and one Latin American team all participating in the tournament that will take place from March 18-20. A follow up announcement will take place this Monday, with broadcast details and caster lineup.

We have a new concept image, and new screenshot of the Warzone map Skirmish at Darkstar that will be launching with Ghosts of Meridian in early April. We also got a look at the Hannibal Mantis, a new design for the mech. All images can be found in the gallery at the bottom of this post.

Our newest Warzone battleground, Skirmish at Darkstar will allow you to battle it out amidst scattered elements of colonial reclamation as humanity attempts to take back the world’s charred surface.

The developer also address concerns about the focus on kill farming that may have emerged after the introduction of the Achilles Spartan Company incentive, which was new pieces of armor that could only be earned by achieving all kill commendations. However, comparing spartan kill differences before and after the Achilles update showed percentage changes in the hundredths. Despit this 343 will still be working to dissuade players from only seeking kills during Warzone matches.

Some community maps will soon be added to Big Team Battle and Grifball, as they have been submitted for final playtesting and map test passes.

In Halo: The Master Chief Collection the playlist Team Hardcore is opening up matchmaking between any skill ranked players to help with the low population count of the playlist. Rumble Pit, the least popular playlist, will be removed entirely.
