During a stage event at Tokyo Game Show, Sony Interactive Entertainment hosted a live Gran Turismo Sport race among four Japanese competitors.

Since the event was held in Japan, it’s only appropriate that the race was showcased on the glorious Suzuka circuit in its tricky full version.

The race actually showcased very well Gran Turismo Sport‘s spectating features including replays and more. It’ll certainly be interesting to see if a new generation of online commentators will appear, on top of one of racers.

I’m also interested in seeing whether the game will be as successful as iRacing as an eSport, considering that it include pretty similar concepts like a scoring system that encourages correct racecraft.

You can check out the video below, and if you want to see more, you can also enjoy my own attempt at lapping the Nürburgring 24 hour circuit on PlayStation VR, the limited edition PS4 console, and a batch of recent trailers showcasing Advanced Matchmaking, PlayStation VR mode and More.

Gran Turismo Sport releases on October 17th in North America, and on October 18th in Europe.
